Central Bucks South Girl’s Soccer had a strong run, and the 24-25 season was a memorable year for the entire program. This year, the team had a 12-7-1 record, finished 3rd in the Suburban One league, and advanced to the second round of District One Playoffs, where they were upset by Garnet Valley High School. Despite the devastating end to their season, the Lady Titans reached new heights this season that should be celebrated.
This season, the girl’s made irreplaceable memories with their teammates. Senior and captain Grace Keane, who played her first and last year with the team this season, recalls her favorite memory of the year. “My favorite memory of the 2024 season was beating CB West at home,” says Keane. “It was insane. We ran on the field to tackle our goalie as soon as the buzzer sounded.”
CB West girls’ soccer is one of CB South’s biggest rivals, and the team strives to beat the Bucks every year. This year, they accomplished that task on their home turf. Keane says she will “never forget that feeling.”
Another memorable moment for all the girls was their two games against CB East, another worthy opponent that the Titans set out to beat. Delaney Rowe, Alana Peev, and Grace Keane, all captains of the 2024 season, mentioned these games as their most outstanding competitions. While the girls were never able to come out on top in the end, the captains agree that the games showed what they are made of. “Almost beating East twice showed that we have grown so much and that we come to play,” says Alana Peev.
Along with memorable games, there were a few players that stood out this season, and who are expected to stand out again in the season to come. Grace Keane mentioned that “Tessa Hughes (junior) really helped distribute the ball throughout the midfield and Liv D (senior) really helped get the ball up the sides of the field quickly.” Hughes was a major part of the season, using her intense ball control and quick feet to move the ball smoothly up and down the field. Also mentioned was senior Liv Daniele, who will be advancing to play collegiate level soccer at Shenandoah University. She used her speed and strength to blow past defenders and score outstanding goals this season. These are just two players, amongst many, who stood out and changed the season for the Central Bucks South Girl’s soccer team.
Though the season was solid, the girls still endured many hard games and even harder losses. Two notable losses were against CB East both times they competed. The first time around, the girl’s endured a crushing loss to East in double overtime, losing 2-1. The second time, the Titans lost again in overtime, 2-1.
While these games were damaging, captain Delaney Rowe says that it was important to “keep our heads up and work out our challenges.” One way that Rowe says the team overcame hard losses was to analyze their games. “We would have team meetings to discuss what we did wrong and what we needed to work on.” The team would watch game film and analyze their performance, pointing out what they could have done better to improve the next time around. While these losses were harsh, the girl’s efforts should not go unnoticed against tough teams like East.
For the returning juniors (upcoming seniors), they are ready to prepare for the season ahead. Captain Alana Peev already has goals in mind. “We need to beat East and West both times this year,” says Peev. “I know we say that every year but we’re making it happen this time.”
With a great season behind them, and an ambitious season ahead, the Central Bucks South Lady Titans are ready for any challenge thrown their way in the 2025 season.
